About Us

Kathryn V. Fields has over thirty-seven years of experience dealing with the complex requirements of Family Law in Washington state, and will competently advise you on your particular issues.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Portland State University in 1977 and her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Willamette University College of Law in 1984. She has been a member of the Washington State Bar since 1985 and was admitted to the Federal District Court in 1989.  

Her past and present memberships include the Family Law Section of the Washington State Bar, the King County Bar Association, the East King County Bar Association, and the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association.  She has been a seminar speaker on the Uniform Child Custody, Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act. She received Washington State Bar Association Pro Bono Publico Service Commendations for 2004, 2007, and 2010.  She is has been Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell from 2005 to present, and appeared in Washington Law & Politics "Who's Who in Family Law" in 2006 and 2009. The AVVO Client's Choice Award in Domestic Violence attorneys for 2012, and the AVVO Top Contributor Award in Domestic Violence attorney for 2013.   In 2017 she served as a volunteer attorney for Eastside Legal Assistance Program.  In Fall 2013, Kathryn was appointed to serve as a Family Law Commissioner Pro Tempore for King County Superior Court and has over eight years of experience in working on family law issues from that side of the Bench.

Payment Options and Information

Hourly rates for 2022 vary depending on the type of case and issues presented. Please inquire.  Advance fee deposits and retainers are typically required for cases in which litigation is anticipated. The amount of the deposit required depends upon the unique facts of your case.  We provide detailed periodic billing and accept major forms of payment.
